He said it came about during an off-season drill which involved a tug-of-war. He said one side was kind of "getting overmatched," and Andrew Dowell was on that team, and "all the sudden, he started yelling, 'Heave!, Heave!'," and I said, "That's the slogan. Because we have some heavy lifting to do."
No word on whether Dowell's team came through victorious in the tug-of-war, but it struck a chord with Dantonio.

Dantonio said freshman wide receiver Julian Major is "in flux."
Major was an early enrollee. Dantonio revealed that Major "stepped away" and left the team during spring semester. Dantonio indicated that it was a combination of troubles in being away from family and making the transition academically and athletically.
He said Major has asked to return, but he wasn't able to return with his fellow classmates.
Major's roster status is yet to be determined for 2018.
