MSU's bye week was well-timed. Now, another tough test against Iowa awaits in a game that could really shift the odds for a bowl game in year one under Jonathan Smith.

FOOTBALL Dr. G&W's Week Seven Recap (Against All Odds): Spoiler Alert

With MSU having the week off, I was able to dig a little deeper this week into the various Power Four races, including identifying a few potential spoilers in each league.

As for the Spartans, not a lot has changed over the past week. The next three games will be tough, but odds are good that Michigan State can steal at least one upset win. That would make the final three games of the season much more manageable.

Finally, I hope that someone made good use of last week's (bad) betting advice. My computer had one of its best weeks ever.

RECRUITING Week Eight Visitors: Iowa vs. Michigan State

Michigan State (3-3) hosts Iowa (4-2) this Saturday at Spartan Stadium (7:30 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC). As usual, the Spartans will be hosting several recruiting visitors. It is also MSU's homecoming game.

Obviously it's early in the week, and this list will likely grow exponentially ahead of Saturday, but we'll get it started now and add more names as we learn them.
