MEN'S BASKETBALL Tom Izzo Reflects on MSU's Experience at NMU: 'We were U.P. strong'

Following the conclusion of the Michigan State men's basketball team's first exhibition game of the 2024-2025 season — a 70-53 victory over Northern Michigan University in Marquette on Sunday in what was coined the "Superior Dome Showdown" — MSU head coach Tom Izzo reflected on what it meant to him to return to his alma mater and his old stomping grounds in the Upper Peninsula. Duffy, football, women's golf and MSU sports in North Carolina

Duffy loved golf, so I decided to have some fun with this story.

I've played Forest Akers, but I didn't know as an old alum that MSU now has state of the art indoor facilities.

The players said the Forest Akers, the indoor facilities and coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll were all drawing cards on the recruiting trail.

Also, watch the NIL video Brooke and Katie did for me. Katie is playing for the piano and Brooke is reading from a children's book.

This would be a great teaching tool for Lansing-area elementary schools.

Unfortunately, MSU has done such a poor job celebrating Duffy, very football players know the true history of MSU leading college football integration.
