1) The coverage in the secondary was not great, but it was not bad either. Few plays of note, the play where Edmondson was beat for 44-yards. He was right there in close coverage, the kid made a nice play on the ball. Later the TD where Colquhoun was called fro PI, but they declined. Again he was right there, kid made a nice play. They hyped that WMU WR up a lot and he was legit. I can't remember the exact play, but Cox with good coverage and the WR simply making a nice play of using his body and catching the ball with is hands extended.
2) Cook's accuracy was a bigger concern. 48% against a team that had zero sacks on the night is an issue. Cook needs to be up around 60% for the offense to function properly. If Cook was 19 for 31 rather than 15, MSU probably keeps a few more drives alive and puts another 7 to 10 points on the board. 47-24 with 7 points coming off a kickoff return would not be as "concerning". Cook is a 58% passer for his career so you have to assume that this game was somewhat of an outlier in his season long performance.
I do think that next week we will see better pass coverage and Cook will be better too. That should bode well.
