I just watched part of the 2010 Notre Dame (Little Giants) game and was struck by how much our team has improved since then. In particular, I believe we have improved in the following areas:
1. Play calling. In that game there was a lot of running on first and second down, and then passing when we had third and long and everyone knew it was coming.
2. Offensive line. Notre Dame had a great defensive line, including Manti Teo, but we were smaller and overmatched.
3. Quarterback play. Cook seems more relaxed and confident. May be related to #2.
4. Our defense was good, but our D-backs were not at the elite level we've seen for the past few years.
Let's hope the trend continues.
