I know it's early, and we don't exactly know what kind of defense we will be running (or who is calling it), but I am curious to get everyone's thoughts on how our current roster would fit using a 3-4 base defense. My 2-deep baseless projections are below, starters are bolded:
NT: Naquan Jones, Spencer Brown
DE: Jacob Slade, Jalen Hunt, Zachary Slade, Kyle King
OLB: Chase Kline, Michael Fletcher, Jeslord Boteang, Jaysiah Robinson
MLB: Antjuan Simmons, Noah Harvey, Luke Fulton, Marcell Lewis
FS: Xavier Henderson, Davion Williams
SS: Darius Snow, Michael Dowell
CB1: Julian Barnett, Angelo Gross
CB2: Shakur Brown, Kalon Gervin
As you will notice, I left Panasuik off given his current outlook and tweet. I do not see guys like Drew Beesley, Jack Camper, or Boteang being a great fit for the 3-4. I was not sure who could be large enough to play NT besides Naquan Jones, so I slotted Spencer Brown based on need only. I think Berghorst would be a great 3-4 DE, but do not think he will bulk up enough to play there because of his baseball career - and is needed at TE.
