The Michigan State football program is coveting an elite prospect in the 2025 class as the Spartans offered a scholarship to four-star defensive end Jayden Woods earlier this week.
Woods, who currently attends Mill Valley High School in Shawnee, Kansas, is a Rivals250 prospect. He ranks as the No. 199 prospect nationally, No. 9 weak-side defensive end and No. 4 player in the state of Kanas in the 2025 class.
Woods is being pursued by many schools, but he recently spoke to Spartans Illustrated to discuss the Michigan State offer and to detail his recruitment.
Michigan State defensive line coach Legi Suiaunoa visited Woods at Mill Valley and offered him in person on Jan. 23. Woods has also been in contact with co-special teams coordinator/rush ends coach Chad Wilt.
"He seems like a good coach," Woods said about Suiaunoa. "Coach Wilt seems like a great coach as well."
