EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State track & field junior Elle Adrian earned All-American Honors on the first day of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Adrian, from Standish, Michigan, competed in the weight throw in her first NCAA Indoor Championships. She was the lone Spartan in action at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

The junior finished 16th to earn second-team All-American accolades. She improved on every throw, with a heave of 21.03m to start the competition. In her second throw, she threw 20.26m before reaching her best with a 21.03m in her final throw. Despite the improvement, she did not advance to the final.

Wisconsin's Taylor Kesner captured the title with a facility record throw of 23.50m.

Michigan State now officially closes out the indoor season. The Spartans will open the outdoor season March 21-22 at the USF Alumni Classic.
