Can I have your tickets?
It just occurred to me that MSU just played their best 4th quarter of the season Saturday. Calhoun took control of the game (BTW, his half sack earlier in the game was really a 9/10 sack). The offensive line played well in the 4th. In fact, the game was very much like other games played by top ten teams--struggled early, then talent won out. It might have taken Bullough a little while to get into the game, but he was better in the 4th. Central Michigan's short passing attack was a real problem, but I thought second half tackling was better. Harris was in position late. Reschke had a very good game. Dowell seemed like the real deal.
The worst part about the game was the injuries. If most of those guys are back for Michigan, I'm okay though. We worry about not getting time for back-ups, but a lot of people are playing really. The exception is quarterback.
Nicholson looked bad in many places, but I am not ready to write him off. I was reminded that even his interception was really a fumble recovery though.
Next week, MSU plays the worst team on their schedule (they account for 2 of the 4 BIG loses to Group of Five teams). I am hoping for better.
