There was a point in recruiting versus Michigan where MSU might win one battle every year or three. After the Duckett/Rogers recruiting cycle, there may have only been a handful of recruits in six years where MSU beat out UM, OSU, PSU, etc.
A decade later and MSU has 24 hour stretch where they land four recruits and of which three of them had UM offers. I am not trying to glorify UM or live in the past, but this is new territory for many of us who have been watching MSU since the 70's and 80's.
You look at MSU's current commitments and MSU has beaten out Michigan on five kids as well as Ohio State (4), PSU (2), Alabama (2), Notre Dame (2), Georgia (2), Tennessee (2), VaTech (2), and a host of kids over the Iowa's, Wisconsin's, Neb's of the conference.
Impressive stuff.
