A couple minutes ago, I went into Gates' Instagram Live session. When asked about his commitment on Saturday, he goes,
"Oh yeah, I forgot I'm committing on Saturday. It keeps slipping my mind that it's happening. Gotta make sure I don't forget."
It was pretty funny, but also kind of insightful. I've always gotten the impression that his mind has been 100% made up for a while and that he doesn't wrestle with his decision at all. The PSU offer made me worry a little bit, but this seems to confirm that his approach is still the same and that the PSU offer didn't cause him to give his recruitment any additional deliberation.
It still seems like he made his decision months ago, announced a date (the first Saturday after his bday), and then just put it in the back of his mind after that.
Just another tiny observation that has me feeling pretty good about my MSU FutureCast for AG.
Also, I don't think he has decided on a time for his Saturday announcement still. He'll probably announce that to the public when he figures it out.
