Let me preface this by stating every team (with the possible exception of OSU) has areas of concern. It's a question of talent, focus, and how the coaching staffs adjust and develop the players that addresses those concerns.

Having said that, I have a few "concerns" going into this season that I'm looking forward to seeing how they unfold - some might be nit-picky, others might be legit that could prevent this team from reaching its full potential:

(1) Unforced errors - stupid penalties, drops, etc. During the spring game I felt the play was rather sloppy - I guess that can be chalked up as rust. However, Coach D mentioned "unforced errors" needing to be cleaned up after the second scrimmage. Again, could be a camp thing/rust - but it's something we should keep an eye on. Holding calls, offsides, false starts, etc. can destroy offense efficiency and defensive momentum.

(2) LB depth - we have a lot of talented guys in the unit, but with limited experience. With Ed Davis out, we can't afford another injury to that money spot. Everyone in CFB has a unit with a similar issue, but it's a concern of mine for MSU.

(3) CB - good corner play is so important to our defense. I've been watching games from 4-5 years ago and our CB's were good, but we gave up some plays (Adams, Rucker, etc.). To have an elite defense, we need our CB to be better than good. We certainly seem to have the talent and coaching. But just something to think of....

(4) FG - Geiger took a big step back last year. Will he return to his freshman form?

So that's it from me. I'm not worried about WR or RB.

What say you? Am I not-picking?
