Look I'm not going to try and tell you that there's no drop-off, that's ludicrous. I am going to try and tell you that Edmondson and Colquhoun aren't that far off from being something better than just serviceable subs.

After rewatching Saturday's tilt, I saw these things. Edmondson in fairly good position on two of the 4th quarter completions - biggest issue, he didn't get his man to the ground directly after the reception, allowing significant gains on 2 occasions for that very reason. Now that's not to say that that isn't a pretty big issue, it is...But it isn't necessarily damning or reflective of potential contributions moving forward, nor is necessarily reflective of coverage inability.

As per Colquhoun, on the td pass where he was beaten in the corner, again, solid position from my perspective, and here was where things get a touch sticky...As Colquhoun turns to try and make a play on the ball, he and the Duck receiver are hand-fighting evenly, as Colquhoun preps to jump to defend the pass, the Oregon receiver has a hand holding down the right shoulder pad, allowing the Oregon player to both leverage his jump while robbing Colquhoun of his ability to elevate. Now again, hand-fighting can and often is part of the deal, and as such, sometimes you just need to fight that much more than the other guy (an issue Colquhoun had against WMU too, IMO). Gotta finish, but I don't think things are as dire as I and others initially thought.

Just something I didn't notice live.
