It is very hard to defend a spread offense using our base defense of 4 DLs and 3 LBs.....In todays college football with 4 and 5 WR sets and the ball coming out quickly it is hard to play with a front 4 and keep 3 LBs on the field....I understand shutting down the run (Baylor Game) but when it leaves you so vulnerable to the pass is that really the answer?

MSU needs to take Darien Harris off the field against Oregon and play with 5 DBs the whole game IMO...It allows you to move the 5th DB around and play man straight up on the slot if you want to....it just gives you more options....

Yes the pass defense was not good but I just cant blame Harris for looking lost in space as he cannot run with guys down the field. Need to take a DL or LB off the field against Oregon and blitz from different angles not up the middle all the time.
