As many of you know, the rebuilt Citrus Bowl opened this past bowl season. The overall opinion of those attending the games was very positive. The stadium is nothing like the old stadium. It is bright and clean with all seats below the third deck seatbacks. I think when MSU plays there most of you who remember the dingy old stadium will be impressed.
The biggest complaint we heard were the food options. There are basically three food areas. General concessions open to anyone. Four open air food courts for those with the appropriate tickets. And, two enclosed food areas and seats similar to the Huntington Bank Club at Spartan Stadium. We have hired a consultant to advise on the food offerings. I had club seats for the Cotton Bowl, and know the food offerings there were superior to what we offered at the Citrus Bowl.
Several of us who are involved with forums like this have been asked to see what food offerings fans would like in the three food areas; general food concessions, the open air food court with higher seat prices than general seats, and the enclosed food area with the highest priced tickets. I think the consultant visualizes that the food offerings need to be more varied in selections and presentations as the ticket price goes up.
Any input is appreciated. What food do you like when you go to a bowl game? Please don't tell me the Citrus Bowl Stadium sucked when you were there. We know that and spent $225,000,000 to correct it.
