Sometimes reading quotes recruits offer about schools is intersting because you know that they often reiterate the pitch being played by the schools. When talking about Penn State, he noted "they aren't flashy but just a hard nosed team and program that has overcome a lot of adversity." That caught me a little. Is that the concept Franklin is selling? A positive spin on that mess of a scandal is that the program was the victim that had to overcome adversity? Wow. Didn't see that coming.
I guess I don't really know what I expected the staff to do, it certainly is an awful past to inherit...I was just a little taken off guard at the notion that anyone would think the football program should be celebrated for overcoming adversity as a result of Sandusky.
