Back on May 7, Dantonio made the comment about MSU "selling results" while others are selling hope.
That comment gained headlines and caused a lot of buzz.
But I wanted to run the full context of those comments here, with a cut from the ESPN podcast during which it took place.
It should be noted that Dantonio didn't appear to go into the podcast planning to make that comment. He made the comment as a reaction to a provocative question from Zubin Mehenti about the hiring of Jim Harbaugh and the perception that it's suddenly become a Michigan-Ohio State league, or words to that affect.
Below is a link to a portion of that podcast so that you can hear it for yourself, in case you only heard about it second-hand. I have included the question before and after his strong comments about selling results, so that you can get a feel for the tenor of the conversation before and after those comments.
In this podcast, you kind of get the idea that Dantonio is just a little tired and annoyed about that category of questioning. Again, he didn't go in trying to bang pans together and create noise.
Many of you will be happy that he stood up to the line of questioning and hammered it down. Others will be glad that he wasn't trying to fire shots of disrespect, but was simply responding to a question he found annoying.
