When asked about the Spartan All-Access TV show this week and the "day in the life of Mark Dantonio" theme of this week's edition, Dantonio was asked if he enjoyed that and if they would want to do something like OSU's BTN training camp series.
Dantonio revealed that HBO asked Michigan State to be the subject of a "Hard Knocks" type of training camp show.
"HBO actually asked us to do a 'Hard Knocks' this season, but I sort of passed on that because didn’t want to put ourselves in that situation," Dantonio said. "I think it's a good show. I’ve watched it, it’s well done. But we passed on it right now because I want our players to concentrate on what we have to do here and not on a camera. I want us to be us and I just didn't feel like at this point in time that was something we should do right now. Maybe in the future. But our success that we’ve had here warranted that opportunity. That’s what we decided to do because basically we get enough press.”
