As for the rest of the camp, there weren't many other players at the camp that will be on MSU's recruiting radar, going forward. I could throw some names out there that looked solid, but MSU was interested in Hamler and Farrell and there wasn't much else that would be up to MSU's high standards right now. MSU has shown interest in OLSM LB James Ross in the past, but don't look for MSU to hit the gas pedal full force on that one.

I didn't get a good look at the Maryland team. Maybe Paul checked in with them. But word is that MSU likes Farrell and Hamler (of course) and is ready to scout SMSB and, most importantly, Saturday's elite camp.

Wednesday's 7-on-7 provided MSU a chance to touch base with some high school coaches. Dantonio says he wants his coaches and MSU's facilities to serve the high school coaches of the state of Michigan, and occasionally other states, and leaves the camp open for some schools and teams that haven't historically produced many (any) prospects. So the 7-on-7 isn't quite the talent hunt that the Izzo Shootout has been, but it serves a purpose in its own right. And getting Hamler back on campus is an important item for MSU. Also, MSU was able to track Farrell and spend more time with him on this day than MSU would have been able to do if he came up only for the elite camp.
