For today's update I have two major things to share.

On Thursday night, the Spartans demolished the Washington Huskies to keep pace with the Michigan Wolverines at the top of the Big Ten standings. But where do the Spartans actually stand? They are not currently the favorite, but they are certainly one of the main contenders.

Second, I am using this post to reintroduce one of the most import concepts in understanding basketball stats: the four factors. Briefly those four key stats are shooting, turnovers, rebounding, and getting to the free throw line. This article contains a deep dive into those numbers including where the current MSU teams stands in the Big Ten and relative to past MSU teams.

Also, today I am rolling out the Data and Stats tracker as a companion to this article. It contains all the data that you didn't know that you needed about Big Ten and MSU basketball this year.

Enjoy!
