The End Game: Episode 5 with Jim Proebstle, Michigan State tight end on the 1965 Big Ten/national title/Rose Bowl team.

There were two emerging football controversies that intersected at MSU. One was the lack of opportunities for Black quarterbacks. Jimmy Raye smashed that barrier as one of two Black starting QBs in major college football in the 1966 season. The other was concussions. Jim's older brother, Dick, had his career ended by a concussion suffered in the 1964 spring football game. Duffy invited Dick to stay involved in the program as a freshman team coach in the fall of 1964 (before freshmen were eligible). Jimmy has credited Dick's help learning the football with helping him develop into a Big Ten QB.

Jim's discusses these topics and his brother's death from CTE.
