I was told MSU spoke with Kareem about playing DT back in May. I don't think it probably went over well with dad, but I think Kareem is open to anything, he knows he is going to be a big boy. MSU was projecting Kareem as future DT. However, they recognized that Panasiuk was a true DT and would love to be a part of class. Once they got him....game over.

Now some got confused due to recruiting services listing Kareem as a DE and MSU interested in Xavier Kelly. These guys are nothing alike. Kareem is going to be like LT or Cliff Ryan. Kelly is more like big/athletic version of Cliff Dukes for those that remember his build. MSU will add another DE to this class, IF they are the right guy. Montez Sweat type would work well:)

Did Kareem's dad cost his shot at MSU? Yes and no. I think dad was the impetus for the de-commitment. On the flip side, if he really wanted MSU he could have pulled trigger in May.

BTW, MSU was one of the later schools to offer Kareem and I was told that was because they viewed him as a tweener. By that somebody who will outgrow DE and needs to add size to play DT. That is why I compared him to the kid from Minny who committed to OSU for 2015. He was a bear at DE at 245, but at 260 he was too slow as a DE and would need to add more size and strength to play DT.

Maybe Kareem selects Bama, I think it will be UM as that is what dad wants in the end. If he ends up at Bama, lots of UM fans will be upset

If he goes to UM, good get for them. I don't think MSU fans need to worry though as Mark Dantonio is getting the guys he and his staff wants.

For the UM fans that run mouth to you Spartans at the office...Just remind them that Harbaugh will not sign as highly touted class as Brady Hoke did in his first year full year. Which follows up on not signing as good a class as Brady Hoke did, despite having more time, in his abbreviated year...Just saying.
