It would make sense if there was a rule change that said that when a prospect commits he would have to sign a letter of intent within 30 days. This would do a couple of things:
1. Make sure that the commitment is really what the kid meant to do.
2. It would eliminate the amount of "poaching" that takes place. Sure we have a lot of commits, but it is a long time till signing day in February, and you can be sure that they will be getting earfuls from other schools.
3.Allow the coaching staff to concentrate on filling out the scholarships available without having to be constantly protecting their turf.
Sure it would diminish the glitter off National Signing Day, but so what
