After reading several posts over the past three recruiting weekends, I feel the following statements are true of our fan base:
1. After several years of recruiting lesser quality athletics( at least by recruiting service standards), fans go through tons of self doubt about whether or not the worm has turned and we will end up with a significantly better class. This has to be expected to some degree since so many times we have been disappointed at the end when kids change their mind.
2. Tucker has brought a new level of excitement to football and with a very successful season in the recent rearview mirror, it's easy to once again fall into despair when a kid dangles a commitment in front of us. We tend to get impatient and then be perceived as negative on this site.
3. Each year the blue bloods seem to get every kid they covet, but in reality, even the OSU's and GA's have kids go elsewhere. They just spread such a wide net that their class still is excellent. Isn't that what we see in Tucker and staff? But, just as Rome wasn't built in a day, neither will we become a blue blood after one exceptional year. However, chin up! I, for one, have never seen a class this good early on and the promise of our wider net looks extremely promising.
It's a long time to an actual signature(which now only means one year) is put to paper and there will be many, many changes. Believe in the staff, be positive, be patient, and we will all be celebrating the Class of 23 as one of the best, if not the best, in Spartan history.
