So the game of the Century was basically dubbed the title game that year, and then MSU lost the Rose Bowl, right?
Since the ND game ended 10-10, was the voting on the AP poll considered the championship vote? Was ND also "crowned" champion that year or what exactly was the story there? For some reason I feel that history gives MSU more credit for that season than ND, right? Was that because ND decided to turtle at the end of the game?
I can't believe I cannot remember all the details, but I got into this conversation last night and frankly found myself to be uneducated on the subject (or at least can't remember all the details)
