Growing Green, a Football Family, is linked to my website. Episode 1 aired July 14 on The Drive with Jack. The link is below with guests Bob Apisa and Notre Dame's George Goeddeke, Notre Dame center who played seven years in the NFL.

We're hoping to expand knowledge of Michigan State's great history from the Biggie Munn and Duffy Daugherty years to the current state of the program with Mark Dantonio and Mel Tucker. MSU fans, especially younger ones, remain largely unaware of MSU's great history. One reason has been the number of outsiders in administration and football office from the 1970s forward. They failed to understand and celebrate the history. Consequently, myths and fiction surrounding the 1970 USC-Alabama game filled the vacuum and overshadow Michigan State's role in college football lore.

Share with friends/fans.

Mel, more than any previous MSU coach, has worked to re-tap MSU's history dating to Duffy leading college football integration. Mel wrote the prologue for my upcoming book in football season. He explains from his experience as MSU grad assistant under Nick Saban learning Michigan State's history.
