His dad's unreal Gator Bowl performance in January, 1989. 9 catches for 252 yards and 3 scores. It stands as the third greatest yardage total in a single game by an MSU receiver (Plax against M in 99 and Rogers against Fresno State in 2001 top it, though I believe Andre's YPC was slightly higher than either) but to me, it was the best individual game I've ever seen by a WR. He was dominant in that game...a good Georgia team had absolutely no answer for him, and unlike Plax and Rogers, Andre wasn't physically dominant...he didn't have the size those guys had, so it was all speed and routes.
Those of us who were around in those days probably recall that there was occasionally some tension between Andre and George Perles, based around the fact that GP was so run dominant in his offensive approach. WHen you have guys like Lorenzo White and Blake Ezor, it's hard to argue with that but if you can say that any great MSU player was a bit underutilized in his career, it was Rison. We've had a lot of great receivers at MSU over the years...put tons of guys in the pros, some even in the Pro Bowl. Yet, the only guy I'd put in the same class with Andre is Kirk Gibson. Not old enough to have seen Washington, but for me, those are the two guys at the top of the list.
