I keep hearing how the decibel level at Husky Stadium can get downright deafening (you know, when they sell it out every once in a while). Is it safe to assume the awnings (I’m sure there’s a better descriptor for those huge overhangs, but I’m not interested learning what it is) are a big factor in creating those crazy noise levels?
Honestly, this is a bad ass looking stadium even without the adjacent lake.
Here’s why I bring this up; I’m a proponent of bricking off the rest of Spartan Stadium to make it, uh, not ugly. But, personally, I don’t know if just the brick would be enough for me to make SS unique and memorable for visitors and recruits. What about some sort of awnings/overhangs over the upper decks? Not exactly like Husky Stadium, but something that looks great while making SS even louder than it already is? For example, here is a planned feature for the new Hawaii stadium:
Anyway, not passionately advocating for this idea but felt like finding out what other Spartans think.
