(warning: please stop reading if you don't want to talk about one of our rivals.)
Currently I'm torn as to who is my favorite UM coach. Both RR and Hoke entered and had the delusional UM fanbase guaranteeing multiple NCs. And then: (please feel free to add to the lists):
RICH ROD
-- Gave us UM's first losing season in a long time
-- Ended UMs streak of making it to a bowl game
-- Was 0-3 vs MSU
-- Got UM put on probation for cheating (stretch gate), putting a dent in their "holier than thou" attitudes
-- Would occasionally, and hilariously, lose his $hit on the sideline when things went bad
-- Introduced us to the term "September Heisman"
-- Completely splintered UM nation, breaking the coaching continuity they enjoyed for so long
-- Subsequently went on to win at Arizona, proving he wasn't a bad coach, and that it was UM who was incompetent
-- 6 Words: Josh Groban's You Raise Me Up
HOKE
-- Was an inarticulate, delusional, full of hubris, buffoon. In other words: A Michigan Man
-- Teased the fanbase with an 11-2 first season, thus greatly increasing the fanbase pain when reality inevitably set in
-- Was 1-3 against MSU
-- Didn't have enough sense to wear a headset or long sleeves in December, making him infinitely mock worthy.
-- Embarassed the Walmarters after stake-gate and MD shoving it, by apologizing to MD
-- Proclaimed that anything other than a BIG championship was a failure, and then proceeded to excede that definition of failure by leaps and bounds
-- Crucially continued the next step of UM program incontinuity and instability
-- Would now be living in a van down by the river, except he has the 14 million dollars the idiot UM administration embarrassingly overpaid him.
So the question is, can HARBAUGH! surpass the amount of pleasure the two guys above have given the MSU faithful? He may turn that clown show around, but with all the hype and expectations, he has the potential to be the greatest car wreck we will ever witness in our lifetimes.
