Week 5 of high school football action has come and gone. Several teams earned statement wins in Week 5, while others are ready to turn things around in Week 6.
Wondering where your team stands? MLive has you covered.
The high school football season is still young and we have all the information you need about who the top teams are in each of our MLive regions – the MLive.com rankings.
Region by region, here are the highlights of our latest regional guide. Check out your region for a breakdown of the top teams, what happened last week, and their next games.
Detroit's Jared Purcell: No surprise here, there's a new No. 1 team!Detroit King and Cass Tech swap the No. 1 and 2 spotst after King's 31-28 overtime win.
Saginaw's Hugh Bernreuter: Top-ranked Midland (Class A), Freeland (Class B) and Ithaca (Class C-D) are the top-ranked teams in the Saginaw area entering Week 6.
Grand Rapids' Pete Wallner: Darius Perisee rushed for 215 yards and four first-half touchdowns for No. 1 Zeeland West in its 58-12 win over Hamilton. The Dux host the Dutch of Holland High at 7 p.m. Friday.
Muskegon's Mark Opfermann: Muskegon Mona Shores (5-0, Divisions 1-4) and Muskegon Oakridge (4-1, Divisions 5-8) are the No. 1 Muskegon-area teams through Week 6.
Jackson's Matt Wenzel: No. 1 Vandercook Lake, who is among the teams that received votes in last week’s AP Division 7 rankings, will host Napoleon this week with a chance to lock up a playoff spot.
Bay City's Lee Thompson: Vassar (4-1; 11-Man) and Owendale-Gagetown (5-0; 8-Man) are the No. 1 teams in the Bay City Area through Week 5.
Lansing's Mike Kohon: No. 1 DeWitt (5-0) hung 50+ points on an opponent (52-14 at Owosso) for first time since Week 4 of last season (56-12 vs. Lansing Waverly).
Flint's Eric Woodyard: There is no blueprint to beating No. 1 Lapeer. This team is loaded and is blowing teams out. Lapeer is outscoring its opponents by an average of 42.4-5.8.
Ann Arbor's Justin Hicks: The three undefeated teams are on top - Saline, Chelsea and Ann Arbor Pioneer. It's going to take a Pioneer win over Saline, to knock the highly touted Hornets out of the No. spot.
Kalamazoo's Justin Dacey: Portage Central (Divisions 1-4) demolished Gull Lake and to no surprise, the Mustangs retain their No. 1 ranking. Up next is a game against Niles, which won't likely be much of a test for Portage Central. Schoolcraft (Divisions 5-8) also remains at No. 1
