First, I am not a Terp fan, but I hate seeing any school have a coach who I do not think is good for the players. For example, for as bad as Hoke was perceived, I did not think he was a bad man or would not want my son playing for Brady. I think Brady is a good man and teach, he was just over his head at UM. The same can be said for JLS, good man, wrong fit. As far Edsall, I would not have my kid playing for him.
If Maryland fires Edsall and elevates Locksley to interim HC that is good fro MSU and other Big Ten teams. Locksley is the Terps ace recruiter and needless to say IMO he is not very scrupulous. Remember he was the HC that got into a fight with one of his assistants when he was at New Mexico.
If Locksley is named the interim HC he will almost certainly NOT be retained by the new HC. To me that is a good thing for recruiting Maryland this year. I have a strong feeling that numerous Terp commits will look elsewhere. If 4-star QB Dwayne Haskins de-commits, I look for the class to really start to disintegrate.
Could MSU look at a few of them? Yes, time will tell though which ones.
As for new Maryland Coaches.....I would think going after R-Rod would be a top priority.
