I would love to see an insider's analysis of 2016 in-state recruiting as it seems to be shaping up as a bit of a strange year. Overall, it appears to be an up year for talent, but it is trending as a down year for number of MSU commits.
Some general observations/questions:
Interesting to see Onwenu (#3), Hill (#6), Falcon (#7), and Reese (#11) all without an MSU offer. Is it because they didn't show early interest or because Hill, Falcon, and Reese were all early verbals to other BIG schools? Are there other factors at play such as better prospects out of state?
Is it just assumed Onwenu is going to the SEC?
How long can kids like Pettaway (#9) and Vance (#13) sit on their offers before they miss the boat? Did Adams already take Pettaway's spot?
Does a Gordon (#16) or Jackson (#18) earn an offer at Summer camp or during their senior years? There seems to be one late blooming in state talent who MD plucks each year and turns into a hidden gem.
