I'm not easy on laptops. The current one I have, an old Acer, has a screen literally holding on by 1 hinge. Another one, a cheapo $250 HP I bought was so frustrating with its Windows 7 or whatever it was that I literally threw it off the rooftop of an 8 story apt. building (friends there, with some beers; it was worth it).
So now it's time to buy a new one and I wanted a slight upgrade (us public school teachers are not wildly rich as some maintain ; ) One less than $1000.
I did some very basic online research and this new Dell XPS 13 is at the top of many lists. I'm not a gamer and don't need much storage or capacity. It's supposed to have a bright screen, be durable, long charge time.
Is it flimsy though? The computer stores around here don't have it, so I'm reluctant to buy online before touching it. Anyone have one/use one? Any other recommendations? Linova anyone?
Thanks in advance.
