I spoke with someone who has some pretty good info and they told me that some of the kids who were offered early are no longer under consideration. It has nothing to do with talent as much as character. The word I got was MSU used evaluation period for as much character as talent. When they stopped into schools they wanted to find out as much as possible about any behavior issues/out side of school activities, etc...
I think this is great. I have known many athletes who are decent kids on the field and can easily qualify, but I would not want them to watch my house/kids.
