I'm no insider most of the time but happen to know someone who is pretty close to Khalid Kareem. My source just spoke with him after he returned from the long campus visit trip and shared a few nuggets with me today that I thought I'd pass on - nothing earth shattering and consistent with what we've heard from the mods.
First of all he said KK is very quiet, humble, and has his head on straight. He has a strong father figure in his life and his dad accompanies him on all the recruiting visits/trips. Dad doesn't want his son exposed to any bad influences or scandal. (obviously a good fit with our staff)
Said he thought KK would stay close to home, he's not a socialite and didn't see him wanting to choose a school for the attention or exposure. (+ for us here too I'd say)
Said he genuinely wanted to go to MSU when he committed and still likes MSU a lot - just wants to take his time and make sure that's where his heart is after seeing some schools.
He did mention Michigan a few times though and said KK is seriously considering the walvies, however my guy still thought we were the team to beat at this point.
