I received some attaboys from some of you after I suggested to Staudt on his show that perhaps Air Force is better than Michigan this year. (I don't necessarily believe that. I was just trying to make the point that there are so many unknowns heading into the season, and Staudt was suggesting that if MSU gets by Oregon, it could be a battle of 6-0 vs 5-1 when MSU plays Michigan, or something like that. I forget the context, but my response was that, who knows, maybe Air Force is better than Michigan. Staudt balked that that notion and said, "how many players to Air Force have that Michigan offered." In a round-and-about way, I think I answered, "The same number that Utah had last year, and they beat Michigan.")
Anyway, instead of Air Force being better than Michigan, maybe I should have said Western Michigan.
USA Today seems to think that's the case:
