According to his Twitter bio, Michigan State has hired a new offensive analyst in Erik Highsmith. He spent the 2022 season as an offensive assistant with Maryland. He's also spent time in the coaching ranks with Central State University, Virginia University of Lynchburg and Overhills High School in Spring Lakes, North Carolina.
As a player, Highsmith was a four-year starter for North Carolina and was later signed as an undrafted free agent by the NFL's Minnesota Vikings.
It appears Highsmith will assist Effrem Reed with coaching the running backs.
