If you didn't read the article...and I envy you if you didn't...Griffith's position is that, due to stats more than results, MSU football is slipping and #2 is way too high of a ranking.

Ok, blah blah blah...don't give a crap. We have all watched the games, and can all agree that MSU isn't playing with that edge and cohesion that we might want them to.

But buried in the jibberish was a quote from Malik that really got my attention. Actually, it got me immediately juiced. He was talking about how MD isn't too worried about the stats, so he isn't either.

Then he said 'When Coach let's us go, we're gonna go.'

Is there a chance that MD is kinda holding these guys back a little? The old 'keep the lion in the cage' thing? It really seems that, especially on D, they're not playing with ferocity most of the time. But then all of a sudden, when a play needs to be made, the dogs get off the leash. But other than that, they're just sorta getting it done.

Other than Oregon, we are heads-and-shoulders better than the teams we will play going into u of m (yes, I know IU's offense is revved up). I'm just wondering if Coach is keeping the dogs on their leashes until they get to Ann Arbor. There has been so much atypical with this team that I'm starting to think something is up.

And it's kinda getting me jacked.
