We will have video a little later of the uniform fashion show that just ended here at the Izzo Media room.
I think MSU and Nike did a great job with these things. I'm not always a new uniform type of guy but these are outstanding. I think this is the best uniform upgrade that I've ever seen at MSU for any sport.
In case you missed it, the helmet will now have what appears to be a slightly darker shade of green. It is somewhere between a matte finish and a glossy finish. It's unique. It'll pop.
By now you've all seen photos of the different uniform combinations. The Spartan helmet on the thigh pad of the alternate white pants is unique. The players love it.
Here's the extra info: Connor Cook told us that the material of these uniforms is different. He says the players will have a better range of motion in these uniforms, less restrictive. He loves the material and construction of the jersey and pants.
I asked Shilique what the players think of the new uniforms. He said they haven't seen them yet. He hadn't seen them until after today's practice when he was handed a uniform and told to put it in for the press conference. The four guys that wore them at the press conference - cook, Calhoun, Jack Allen and Ed Davis - absolutely love the uniforms. The first time they saw them was just a few minutes ago.
Pretty exciting, I would say.
And Amie got his wish of the Longhorn-style all white road uniforms.
