Under Dantonio, MSU has come in 2nd twice with a conference record of 7-1 (2011 and 2014). The Big Ten went to an 8 game conference schedule in 1971, over that time, almost 70% of the champions have had one or more loss. With a little better luck, Dantonio could have been looking at four conference championships in his 8 seasons as head coach of MSU.

Ok, sucks for us, but it is what it is.

That brings me to the probability of the 2015 conference champion being undefeated. It's been 44 years since the conference went to an 8 game schedule. The conference champion going undefeated in back to back years has happened only 4 times. And over that time, the Big Ten has never seen 3 straight undefeated champions. I'm talking undefeated in conference play. If it happens in 2015, it'll be a first (MSU was 8-0 in 2013 and OSU was 8-0 in 2014).

Going on past Big Ten history, there is a very high probability that the 2015 Big Ten champion has at least one conference loss.
