I just read the 167 or so rules that Mormon missionaries heed during their 2-year trip. A few that stuck out:
1). Can only lift weights on Preparation Day (I am assuming once a week). Can run and do light stuff on their own daily.
2). No contact sports (ie. football).
Question: If Mufi can't regularly do seriously lifting/weight training and essentially doesn't play in a live football game for 3 years (assuming he redshirts after 2 years off), "Don't football players lose a lot of timing and skill development by not being around football for 2+ years?"
Have there been any NFL players who did a 2-year Mormon mission trip between high school and football? Just curious. We're taking a pretty big risk on Hunt, in my opinion. Even guys who are injured for 2 years are able to be around coaching, weight lifting, and observe practices.
Or am I worrying about nothing?
