EAST LANSING, Mich. – Fresh off First Team All-B1G recognition last week, Michigan State volleyball senior libero Nalani Iosia has been named an All-North Region honorable mention by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). It's the second consecutive season with an AVCA All-Region honorable mention designation for Iosia.
Iosia caps her Spartan career ranking third all-time in career digs (1,466) and digs per set (4.25).
Her 4.57 digs/set and 516 digs this past season were each the sixth-best mark in a single season at MSU. Iosia's 34 digs against Ohio State on November 3, 2024, set the program record for digs in a four-set match and are the third-most single-match digs in program history. No other B1G libero recorded more than 30 digs in a match this past season. Iosia led the B1G in both digs and digs/set overall, and her 4.64 digs/set and 339 digs led in conference only matches.
She graduates as one of the most recognized liberos in program history, becoming the first Michigan State libero to earn first team honors and the first Spartan on the first team since 2021. Her three career B1G Defensive Player of the Week honors is a program record since the award's inception in 2005.
On November 25, 2024, Iosia became the first Spartan drafted into the Pro Volleyball Federation, selected with the seventh pick of the fifth round (39th overall) by the Orlando Valkyries. Iosia is the third Spartan to go pro under head coach Leah Johnson joining Zoe Nunez and Amani McArthur.
