We have extended over 1/2 of our scholarship offers outside the BIG recruiting area. South of the Mason-Dixon Line and west of the Mississippi.

We have no commits from this area yet.
We are having very little chatter on the Board about any of the recruits outside of the BIG area.

There may be several reasons for this:
1. Better quality recruits in the BIG area.
2. MSU's higher profile is attracting a higher quality of recruits and commits from the BIG area.
3. We want recruits from outside of the BIG area to visit when we have warmer weather.
4. It is harder for recruits to visit during the school year and we want them on campus before we let them commit.
5, Coaches will travel more now that spring practice is over.
6. Evaluation time is now open.
7. High profile recruits from the South and the West commit later or at all star games.

Most of the talk is about recruits in our area, I hope the talk and evaluations of outside the BIG area increases. We do not seem to have really capitalized on our higher profile yet. No Florida, Texas, Arizona, etc. talk is taking place. We are not being listed in very many recruits top 10 schools outside of the BIG area.

Just wondering out loud.
