This is a very good thing. I think a couple of recruits last year mentioned how some of the other teams (Iowa) had new Training facilities that were very impressive. This is just another example how the Facilities Arms Race is never ending. This along with last years upgrades at the Stadium Locker Rooms and Recruiting Facilities should keep pace with the rest of the Big 10.

The next steps would be to really improve the fan experience at Spartan Stadium by making major improvements to the concourses, restroom and concession facilities. This might include WiFi in the Stadium. Not really seeing the need to expand the number of seats and I hear they may actually cut a few thousand to widen the stairs in the stands and as part of the concession and restroom upgrades. Longer term they may want to put a red brick facade on the east side of the stadium when they finish taking out the gas tanks and moving the Bus Station. That would leave only the South End with the old concrete facade. That could be addressed by the concourse upgrades if they decide to use the area where the tennis courts are for a concession court yard and rest rooms. That would leave us with a 70 ,000 to 72,000 seat stadium with great facilities and amenities for the fans. That is bigger than almost all new NFL stadiums. The only way I think they would consider any type of large expansion on the South End Zone would be if they sold out every game for at least 5-7 years with a long waiting list of at least 10,000 or more for new tickets. That has never happened at MSU. However this might be a new era with MD and a National Championship or two could make that a possiblity. It would be nice to consistently sell out about 90 too 100k a game.
