MSU has 24 players currently on NFL rosters, which is more than at any point in the last decade. Eqach year under Dantonio, the number has gone up. Here is a list:
Le'Veon Bell ------- Pittsburgh Steelers Running Back
Max Bullough ------ Houston Texans Linebacker
Aaron Burbridge--- San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver
Shilique Calhoun--- Oakland Raiders Linebacker
Garrett Celek-------- San Francisco 49ers, Tight End
Donavon Clark------ San Diego Chargers, Guard
Jack Conklin--------- Tennessee Titans, Offensive Tackle
Connor Cook -------- Oakland Raiders, Quarterback
Kirk Cousins---------- Washington Redskins, Quarterback
Kellen Davis---------- New York Jets, Tight End
Darqueze Dennard-- Cincinnati Bengals, Cornerback
Kurtis Drummond---- Houston Texans, Safety
Bennie Fowler --------Denver Broncos, Wide Receiver
William Gholston----- Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Defensive End
Joel Heath --------------Houston Texans, Defensive End
Brian Hoyer ------------Chicago Bears, Quarterback
Jeremy Langford------ Chicago Bears, Running Back
Tony Lippett------------ Miami Dolphins, Cornerback
Keith Mumphery------- Houston Texans, Wide Receiver
Domata Peko ----------Cincinnati Bengals, Defensive Tackle
Dion Sims--------------- Miami Dolphins, Tight End
Drew Stanton --------- Arizona Cardinals, Quarterback
Lawrence Thomas---- New York Jets, Defensive End
Trae Waynes----------- Minnesota Vikings, Cornerback
Jerel Worthy------------ Buffalo Bills, Defensive Tackle
Also, on practice squads, we have 3 players:
Jack Allen --------- New Orleans, Center
Dan France ------- Cleveland, Offensive Line
Marcus Rush ----- San Francisco, Linebacker
All 7 of the players highlighted in bold were undrafted Free Agents.
As a comparison, UofM has 17 players on active rosters, and 2 on practice squads (including Ruddock - come on, Lions!). Also, UofM has more older players (7 years or more), such as Tom Brady, Alan Branch, Leon Hall, Chad Henne, David Harris, Brandon Graham. We have only Drew Stanton, Kellen Davis and Domato Peko that are beyond 5 years.
The one observation I would have is that any belief that UM has had more talent than MSU is not represented in these numbers, especially in the last 6 draft classes. Remember, those last 6 classes go back 10 years, so that tracks to the Dantonio start date.
