Nicholson: Is he better off in RJ's spot?

I might be wrong when I say this but with RJ out (which is unfortunate) wouldn't Monte move to his safety spot? If so, isn't he much more comfortable at that safety position compared to the one he has been playing whe RJ was healthy? Is it possible him and Cox could turn into a pretty dang good safety combo?
