Just a quick note here, but sources have confirmed to Spartans Illustrated that Northwestern transfer defensive back Rod Heard II will officially visit Michigan State during the weekend of Jan. 5 and Jan. 6. Allen Trieu was first to report.
In five seasons with Northwestern, Heard totaled 182 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, 10 passes defended, two interceptions, two sacks, five forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He played in 46 career games played.
Heard primarily played nickel back for the Wildcats this past season.
He is a graduate transfer and has one year of eligibility remaining. He is also a Farmington Hills, Michigan native.
