I'm not a bit surprised that Notre Dame offered recently. I wouldn't be surprised if more offers come.
My strongest comment about Morris during our podcast last week was that I was stunned that a guy with his size, frame, speed and film hadn't attracted more offers. I don't know why coaches were sleeping on this guy. (I realize he had plenty of offers and a Top 30 ranking in Ohio. That's not bad. But, of all the guys who committed in the last couple of weeks, he and Layne are the two that jump off the film to me.)
And I stand by the Ernest Shazor comparisons that I made on the podcast (I think Shazor might be a linebacker if he played college football today. Great size, excellent speed, strong hitter. He was a safety at UM, but I think defenses might need a guy like that closer to the line of scrimmage if he played today).
To reiterate, I'm not surprised "high-level" offer came Morris' way, and I wouldn't be surprised if there are more. But he seems to be steadfast with Michigan State.
