OSU really played well at the end of the season last year, and it was the explosion of their running game that spurred them on. they rushed for 300 yards against Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon on their way to a huge finish to the championship run. Elliott was amazing, and Cardale Jones was a beast. Obviously, their offensive line was clicking on all cylinders.

They appeared to keep this trend going with 360 rushing yards against Va Tech to open the season.

With Hawaii and NIU on the slate next, I was expecting 400 yard rushing days. Well, they ran for 180 and 160 against those two schools. Braxton Miller accounted for 60 of the 180 against Hawaii, but Elliott seemed to struggle finding openings in both of those games. He did hit 100 almost exactly in both games, but against those schools he was definitely less dominant than he had been in recent games.

It will be interesting to see if this trend reverses. As the defenses get better, will they take it up a notch, or will teams be able to stuff their run later in the year?

We shall see, but it bears watching as much as the famous QB dilemma.
