OT Anyone fimiliar with proportional-integral-derivative controllers

I have recently bought a PID but am having trouble setting it up. I have a small kiln that needs a controler and I thought this one would be more like the controller on by big kiln. Actually I'm a little lost. Any help would be appreciated.
